The placement of various lights, booms, columns and other equipment is critical to the success of the procedure, and the safety of the patient. But so is the mechanical ventilation system. Why is it, then, that the equipment is developed into the reflected ceiling plan months or even years before the ventilation? Is it a problem? What steps can be taken to avoid ceiling conflicts and interference - problems that could lead to nosocomial infection and even death? Presenter: Mike WoolseyMike Woolsey started his HVAC career in 1985 as an intern for a consulting engineering firm while studying at Washington University in St. Louis, where he received the Building Environmental Systems scholarship his junior and senior years before graduating with a BSME. Mike has since worked in various application, sales, marketing, product and general management capacities for Krueger and KE Fibertec. Now at Precision Air Products, Mike is Director of Sales. Mike is a member of ASHRAE Technical Committee 9.6 Healthcare Facilities, ASHRAE Standard Project Committee 170, Ventilation of Health Care Facilities, ISPE HVAC Community of Practice, and holds a patent in the field of air distribution.
