Loren Cook’s Power-Plume Provides Safety and Efficiency
Loren Cook’s Power-Plume Exhaust System Matches Safety with Superior Efficiency for Laboratories
Since 1941, Loren Cook has been the expert in moving air in commercial facilities. Applications small and large (30 CFM to 300,000+ CFM) have a match with Loren Cook’s catalog of over 250 products. The Power-Plume is excellent for lab facilities where safety and efficiency are the primary concerns. Importantly, Loren Cook’s Power-Plume is a powered induction lab exhaust system that offers many features that set it apart from classic plumes.
Designed for Efficiency
Loren Cook’s Power-Plume is designed to eliminate the need for a mixing box and surpass the efficiency of classic adjustable nozzle designs. Not only are the units stackable, mountable to curbs, but also directly paired to a primary lab exhaust fan, making it a flexible option. Additionally, the induction of mass amounts of ambient air and 50+ foot plume height gives this device a unique advantage for increased efficiency. Finally, the plume height is not reduced under partial load conditions.
Air Dilution Rates Provide Better IAQ
The axial design provides high dilution rates while maintaining high plume. Undoubtedly, dilution is important for safe indoor air quality (IAQ) and the effect of exhausting air on outdoor air quality. Additionally, dilution rates can range from 200% to 1000%+ during maximum and minimum flow (respectively). The column of ambient air around the lab exhaust air encapsulates the contaminated exhaust and then allows it to exit the system to maintain IAQ. The Power-Plume can operate on a VFD for partial-load conditions. Moreover, by removing the necessity of bypass air to achieve the required plume height, energy is recoverable. Furthermore, the primary lab exhaust fans are not required to generate high exhaust velocities for plume height. This reduces the power requirements for the system. Subsequently, Loren Cook’s Power-Plume provides unmatched efficiency, safety, and energy cost savings.
Power-Plume’s Features
The Power-Plume has some unique features that are not found elsewhere on the market. Safety and efficiency are equally important in many facilities, Power-Plume’s features make that a reality.
