This year, distinguished service technician Bob Johnson celebrated his 40th anniversary with SVL! Bob is a native of Grand Marais. Prior to coming to SVL, Bob had a couple of other jobs. His first was as a logger where he helped his brother build a sawmill. That’s where Bob’s mechanical aptitude was first discovered.

He was also a commercial fisherman for four seasons. Bob’s love for the outdoors undoubtedly prepared him for the various climate conditions he would encounter as a field service technician.

In 1975, Bob started college at Dunwoody and completed a program in refrigeration. In 1977, the mechanically inclined, recently graduated, outdoorsman came to work for SVL and there has been no looking back. Bob and his wife Mary Ann live in Two Harbors, MN; they moved up there in 2003 and Bob has pioneered our service expansion to the area. Bob and Mary Ann have two daughters, Nicole and Danielle and they have one grandson Lincoln, who is two-and-a-half years old.

In his free time he enjoys snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. He is a member of the Local 455 Pipefitters St. Paul. He also volunteers with the Duluth Local 11 Plumbers and Steamfitters at their HVAC Apprenticeship facility. He enjoys passing on his expertise to other technicians coming through the ranks.

When asked to reflect and share about his time with SVL Bob had this to say: “I owe a lot to my wife and two daughters for supporting me all of these years, working late hours and being out of town a lot. I work with the best people in the HVAC industry at SVL. I truly feel very fortunate to have found such a great company to work with right out of Dunwoody.”

Thank you, Bob, for your years of service!
