Broncos Practice Facility Features a Cutting-Edge Johnson Air-Rotation HVAC System
NFL Denver Broncos Selected Johnson Air-Rotation System Units for Their New, State of the Art Practice Facility
The Denver Broncos built a state of the art practice facility at the end of 2014. One requirement of a new HVAC unit was an extremely quiet system. Even when not in close proximity, the entire team had to hear the coaching staff. The main focus of the players was practice space. They wanted the maximum square footage possible, so the HVAC system needed to utilize minimal interior space.
Why Air-Rotation was the Perfect Fit
The Johnson Air-Rotation System offers an efficient and virtually undetectable mechanical system that provides even distribution and cost savings. Two Johnson Air-Rotation HVAC Systems were installed to heat and cool the entire practice facility without any ductwork and mounted outside to eliminate any interior space requirement, maximizing the facility’s area. The architect designed a cabinet for each air rotation unit. These cabinets became a design feature for the overall building. The units have double-wall construction, acoustic insulation, and perforated liner further to reduce the already hushed acoustics of the units.
How Johnson Air-Rotation Systems Work
Johnson Air-Rotation HVAC System uses high volume, low velocity, air-circulation to circulate the air to large open space. An Air-Rotation unit is a total system. They include classic ventilation that results in no stratification, vertical temperature control, low energy, and reduced maintenance expenses. Air turnover returns all the air in the space to the unit an adequate number of times per hour to maintain facility requirements. Set-point precision keeps the temperature within 2 degrees at all times. Furthermore, the Air Rotation system only allows for a 2-degree increase in temperature with every 10 feet of elevation.
Return air moves into vents at floor level by a continuously circulating fan system. Then the system evaluates the temperature, and the unit automatically adjusts heating or cooling components. After, air pumps back into the outlet, and finally expells into a space, typically near the ceiling.
No Ductwork, No Additional Temperature Regulation, and No Indoor Floor Space Required
Johnson Air-Rotation Systems are excellent in a wide range of spaces with ceiling heights of 15 feet or higher. This is due to Johnson Air-Rotation Systems not requiring any interior ductwork. Distribution centers, retail wholesale clubs, and warehouse applications benefit from the Air-Rotation units. The promised uniform heating makes it an excellent solution for product sensitive storage (like beverage, food, or plastic production plants), pharmaceutical storage, & grow facilities. Finally, exhibition centers, sports facilities, and gymnasiums, where space is at a premium are uniquely sited for Johnson Air-Rotation Systems.
