Daikin SmartSource Compact Water Source Heat Pumps (WSHPs) lead the way in small-scale, serviceable design that provides commercial building contractors and facility managers with a low-cost alternative to more expensive and larger WSHPs. Factory stocked for quick delivery, compact WSHPs are ideal for new, existing, or retrofit jobs where space is a premium and budgets are constrained. They can be configured as a geothermal heat pump or for boiler tower applications that are often found in schools, offices, lodging, condominiums, and retail facilities.
Smart Dehumidification
With Smart Dehumidification, once the space temperature is satisfied, the humidistat signal diverts the high temperature refrigerant gas to the hot gas reheat coil located downstream of the cooling coil. The conditioned and reheated air prevents over cooling of the space, maximizes moisture removal for improved indoor comfort, and is an excellent solution for applications where maintaining low humidity in a space is crucial.
Waterside Economizer
Waterside economizers help to reduce energy consumption by using cold loop water temperature to condition a space without energizing mechanical cooling. Buildings will benefit from the waterside economizer when loop temperatures are cool enough to provide air conditioning to the space.
High-Efficiency Compressors
High efficiency rotary (sizes 007-019) and scroll (sizes 024-070) compressors are designed to optimize heat pump duty and performance. Additionally, horizontal GDH model (sizes 024-070) are available with two-stage scroll compressors for increased operational energy savings, while providing excellent part-load performance and improved humidity control.
EC Fan Motor(s) With Smart Fan Control

Dedicated outside air systems (DOAS) bring the outside in by drawing 100% outside air through the unit and into a building’s HVAC system to improve indoor air quality and ensure proper ventilation is efficiently delivered to the desired space.
Smartboost Heating
Daikin’s exclusive SmartBoost Heating Technology™ revolutionizes heating operation for water source heat pumps by utilizing the hot gas reheat coil in addition to the unit’s primary DX coil. This feature allows outside air to enter the unit as low as 0°F without use of pre-heat, while acquiring heating efficiencies as high as 5.1 ISCOP per AHRI 920-2020.

With electronically commutated fan motors and industry-leading shaftless blower technology, SmartSource DOAS delivers high efficiencies to ensure premium performance. Each DOAS can be programmed for either constant or variable airflow control, ranging from 70% to 200% of nominal airflow while attaining external static pressures over 2.0”.
Multi-stage Tandem Scroll Compressors
Incorporating eight stages of compression and active superheat control, SmartSource DOAS provides just the right amount of capacity, from 100% all the way down to 30%, to reach the desired supply air temperature and humidity level.
100% Outside Air
Dedicated outside air systems, commonly referred to as DOAS units, draw 100% outside air through the unit and into the HVAC system, improving indoor air quality and ensuring that the proper ventilation is delivered to the desired space.
