The Importance of Outdoor Air Measurement and Control
SVL Highlighted How Airflow Measuring Stations Can Improve Your Efficiency
On October 8th, 2015, SVL hosted a seminar on outdoor air measurement and control presented by EBTRON‘s Dave Dougan. The Outdoor Air Measurement and Control seminar highlighted the importance of proper placement, commissioning, startup of flow meters, verification, and when to adjust airflow measuring stations.
The Importance of Outdoor Air Measurement and Control
Outdoor Airflow (OA) can be the source of several challenges when not controlled or monitored. Uncontrolled OA can cause damper issues, fan speed changes, and wind/stack pressure. The OA can be managed by monitoring values and making adjustments to system operation accordingly. Changes made after the evaluation of OA measurements can save time, energy, and prolong the life of your equipment.
EBTRON’s Air Flow Measuring Stations
EBTRON is the industry leader in airflow measuring stations. The airflow measuring stations enable users to view data OA on an LCD screen. One of the airflow measuring stations commonly used by SVL is the GTx116-P+. This airflow measuring station has temperature and alarm capacity. The GTx116-P+ is specially designed for large duct systems and has a remote transmitter. This system also supports up to 16 sensor nodes and three mounting styles, proving to be a versatile option.
Presenter: Dave Dougan
Dave Dougan, a graduate of Rutgers University, has been a crucial member of EBTRON for more than 30 years. Before becoming the President of EBTRON in 1994, Dave served as the Director of Product Development. Dave has published numerous articles on airflow measurement for building pressurization and outdoor air control. His extensive experience on the topic was evident to all who attended the seminar.
