Transom - Air Source Heat Pumps
Hatch Air Source Heat Pump
Air Source Heat Pump
For More Information:
Transom designed the Hatch Domestic Hot Water Heater as a dedicated air source heat pump for high-temperature (140 °F) potable water. It features a double-walled potable water heat exchanger and dual circuits for stage control and redundancy.
It is intended for decarbonization projects and achieves 180–190 °F supply temperatures, making it a direct replacement for a boiler in a retrofit.
Main Components
- Scroll compressor, vapor injection controlled
- Dual circuit, isolating each circuit for redundancy
- Tube and fin outdoor coil, riffled tubes for greater heat transfer capability
- Two double-walled, brazed plate, stainless steel indoor coils
- Fluid piping is stainless steel
- Fluid line includes flow switch and check valves for each heat exchanger
- Refrigerant line includes filter/drier, solenoid, and sight glass
- Electronic TX valve and controller for better control over an extensive operating range
- Variable speed EC fans, two per circuit
- Microprocessor controller c/w temperature and pressure sensors. The unit is factory charged and tested before shipping. This way, only rudimentary functions remain during onsite installation.
Options
- Tandem compressors for four stages of loading for capacity control (some models)
- Master controller and sensors for additional capacity
- Remote controller/display
- BACnet or Modbus communication
- Built-in central centrifugal pump
- Standard single-wall indoor coil
